The Archaeology Museum in Alexandria presents a great way to learn what it is like to participate in an archaological dig. Learn about the thrill of discovery, the drama of the ancient past revealed under the excavator’s trowel.

Kids will be fascinated to learn the specialized techniques employed to preserve delicate artifacts and to carefully record each layer as deeper levels are uncovered.  The Arts Safari at the Archaeology Museum is a program that does all this and more.  The Arts Safaris teaches kids about archaelogy and the latest discoereies, and at the same time that the kids put together a take home craft.  This time the exercise is in identifying pieces of real 19th century pottery.
