Play in the pool to get fit this summer.

There are more reasons to head to one of the Ridgeleigh at Van Dorn swimming pools than just to swim and tan. Instead of separating your workout at the Fitness Center to feel comfortable with your poolside body, combine the two Alexandria apartment amenities to make of of the most beneficial workout routines this summer.

Aquatic exercise builds muscle strength, increases the body’s balance, and helps you to lose weight. The key to success when exercising in the pool is the water’s resistance. The low-impact moves take pressure off of joints while  naturally burning fat.

Pool exercises are easy once you know where to start and how they help. These are the best ways to introduce someone new to aquatic exercises. You’ll want to spend even more time in the water and won’t even have to worry about breaking a sweat!

Water Walking is basically treading across the pool while swinging your arms. The key is to keep back straight and feet flat.

Kickboards, water weights, and pool noodles are great tools for adding resistance when doing most exercises.

what are your favorite aquatic exercises to do at your Alexandria apartment swimming pool?
